How it all began!
Following a women's conference run by Business Link in 2010, Melanie Berenblut decided it would be a good idea to try to network with some of the attendees so simply posted on LinkedIn "Would anyone be interested in meeting up to network?"
The response was overwhelming.
An initial meeting was scheduled and approximately 12 women attended. One of whom was Dawn Gomes who, after seeing how many were keen to come along to the next meeting if they were unable to make it to the first one, came on board with Melanie to co-run the group. So from this very informal beginning the next event was scheduled. From an initial meeting involving just 12 women sat around a table in a bar, each taking a turn with their elevator pitch, the next event was very different. Over 100 women in the room, buzzing with energy!
Dawn & Melanie continue to run the event once a month for women business owners to come along and network in a friendly, supportive and informal atmosphere, all with the same aim of doing business but realising that building relationships is an important part of this.
The group is independently run by Melanie & Dawn, and although it began off the back of the Business Link conference, no payment or funding is received from Business Link (or any other source).
